Next Question: Where?

Before we can decide on a date, we need to first pick a venue so we know what the available dates will be.  So far, we've toured three venues here in the Twin Cities and have walked away from all three thinking "Damn that's expensive!"

We looked at two mansions in Minneapolis.  I've never been to a wedding reception at a mansion before, but it is a different idea than the typical hotel or event center.  We also went out to Bayview on Lake Minnetonka in Excelsior to check out their facilities since I've booked boat cruises for work with them before.  Again, a nice option on the lake, but very pricey, especially when you consider the 20% service fee on top of the food/drink minimum.

You'd think I'd have some good ideas considering I attended, oh... 25 wedding receptions in the area in 2008 alone!  But almost all of those were in distant suburbs or in another area altogether. Only one place in Plymouth really seems like a realistic option of the places I DJ'd.

So, that is where we're at right now with the planning.

In other news, Patrick Lynch and Liz Burke agreed to be ushers, and Travis Bolton said he and Jonny would be happy to perform a song during the ceremony!  Lauren enlisted the help of Ann Glanzer to be her personal attendant as well.  That might just about do it for positions in the wedding unless we go with four ushers.

I think I will be having TWO personal attendants, but I have yet to ask Nicky Mastain if she would share the honor with Ann!
