Church Found

Leave it to the ol' groom to update on wedding happenings! Lauren and I have found a church to host the wedding, pending the delivery of our security deposit. Since fall weddings are now more popular than any other season, churches are tough to find, especially in the vicinity of our reception site. So, we were a little limited. We actually went to church three straight weeks at different places, trying to find somewhere that worked. Turns out it's a Lutheran church, located on the U of M campus that we went with.

We do have to pay a fee to rent the church for the day, but it's pretty reasonable and will be much easier than any alternatives. So, that's one more obstacle to check off the list! One minor problem, though, is the church cannot provide the pastors that day as they've reached their annual wedding quota, or something. So we have to find someone to officiate. I asked a couple pastors I know, ones who I thought perhaps might have come to the wedding anyway, including Alex's father-in-law and a former Willow Lake pastor now residing in Michigan. Seems to be some interest.

I don't know what's the next hurdle on the list. Lauren seems to have dress issues squared away. I have the tux thing under control. We have a photographer. So, next I guess we'll need to figure out cake and flowers. I think we have a pretty good start on things. I'm of course most excited for the week before the wedding, when we go to the liquor store with a shopping cart and stock up for the bar.
